I think you'll have a great time at whatever resort you visit. The rooms look great but I do love the level of service and the product that they deliver. It's on the list but I think we'll probably do Secrets the Vine before EPM. However, my niece and her husband are on their 8th visit with them. I didn't care for the palapas as the beach seemed really crowded with them and the beach beds looked dirty. We did walk down and tour ERC when we were at SSS. Silversands: loved everything about this resort (especially the Mexican Restaurant) but not being able to go into the ocean in front of the resort due to rocks is a deal breaker for us. The maître d found out we were there for our 32nd anniversary and did all kinds of special things for us not once but every time we went to the restaurant. We were also entitled to a breakfast in bed which we didn't use. It also included a spa package which we upgraded to a 60 minute massage for each of us, a facial for me and a wrap for the hubby only 120. It included a dinner on the beach which was fabulous: we ate in a white chiffon enclosed palapa with the lights of Cozumel in the background. It is small with a boutique feel to it and very laid back. They will engage you in activities if you wish and deliver romance if you want.Ĭapri: The oldest resort and very Mexican looking. The beach, food, and staff are wonderful. If you are looking for romance, Secrets does know how to do that well. Trip like that as I don't know when the stars will align and allow us the opportunity to take a mom and dad only trip again. It's a big trip for us our first after having a child and our 18 month old son will be spending quality time with gramma and poppy while we get some R&R I wouldn't choose a resort lightly for. We previously stayed at ERC so it will be our 6th visit with the chain we just prefer EPM. I also know if you let them know its a special occasion and tell them you want to plan anything they are happy to help. What I do know is that at EPM we have always been treated like gold, everyone is friendly and generally food, service, drinks, grounds, rooms etc are all fabulous, well presented and clean / well prepared etc. At SMB it's said to be spectacular at EPM it's very nice - it does collect sea grass father stormy weather and it is always cleaned up but it takes time and is subject to what mother natures dolls out for weather I have not read this complaint about SMB. There just was anything in its reviews that seemed better to me than EPM for the additional cost. At secrets you have to pay for wifi if your not in a preferred club level room.I just can't swallow that. We will be returning to EPM next week for our 5th visit and we have looked at SMB but I couldn't justify the price difference.
